Ohio River Barge Traffic Edition!

A Beautiful day in Greater Cincinnati.
I've been hearing a lot about the Mississippi River being so low because of the drought of 2012, that it's been restricting river barge traffic on it. Of course I don't live along the Mississippi river, but I do live very close to the Mighty Ohio River! I wanted to see if the drought had any effect on the Ohio. What a better place to observe the river barge traffic than from Hooter's of Newport Kentucky. It was a splendid day for lunch outside. Last night a cold front passes through, cooling things off just enough to enjoy a wonderful lunch outside on the deck at Newport Hooter's. I have to tell you, I didn't see any barges going up or down the river. Could it be a coincidence? Or could it be I really didn't care about the river traffic and just needed an excuse to enjoy my lunch outside?
Not a Barge in sight!

The lunch specials are always reasonably priced at Hooter's. Of course they are nothing fancy, which is fine. I had the buffalo shrimp with fries. Glenn and Willie had some chicken. Our server Megan was most pleasent. Which is not to say that any servers there are not. She was most concerned about the foam on the pitchers of Sam Adams. It was commendable. We wish her well in her academic pursuits of nursing. A fine profession.

Megan took care of the foam!

I have a confession to make. It was such nice day, we didn't didn't want to come back to work!
